The Fourth Miss Kendra Counselor Certification Training

The Miss Kendra Program is the groundbreaking trauma-informed prevention program conducted by counselors at the Post Traumatic Stress Center in the public schools in New Haven, CT, Minneapolis, MN, and now many states throughout the country.  Using trauma-informed practices, an integrated program for elementary school students Kindergarten through 5th grade has resulted in dramatic decreases in office referrals, suspensions, expulsions, and physical fighting.

This intensive week-long training will provide teachers, school counselors, and creative therapists the concrete tools necessary to implement aspects of Miss Kendra in schools, and prepare counselors to implement the Miss Kendra Program when it is adopted by school districts in their area.  Experience in schools with children and experience with drama, storytelling, or creative expression is preferred.

Training will begin promptly at 9 am on Monday July 22 and continue through 5 pm on Friday, July 26.  Hotels/lodging is best found on the Internet.

Cost:  $795.00

To reserve a place, the entire fee must be sent by check or electronic deposit by June 15.  There will be no refunds or discounts. However, do not book your travel until your registration is confirmed.

Participants will be awarded Certification as an ALIVE counselor.  Follow-up contact and supervision after the training will be expected.
